It had been a late night before, we attended Good Friday service that included dinner, a service, communion and a baptism. After all the children were nestled all snug in their beds, the Sisters and the Hubs sat in the dark, no music or tv–just conversation. We learned a lot about each other and shared our struggles with raising kids, being married, we visited the past and shared our dreams for the future.
We really enjoyed taking the time to really celebrate why we were getting together. Remembering Christs unbelievable gift, unattainable to us. Even the kids were really affected by the thoughts of Jesus the man being nailed to a cross and Amy and I learned about the 5 th cup at the seder table. The cup of wrath, poured out on Him for us.
The morning started early, the babies watching Dora and the parents guzzling coffee. No matter how you plan or try to be ready–a house with 6 kids is wild, crazy and LOUD! Momo and Popo are on the way and we have eggs to hunt, lunch to make and memories to make!
We are going green for this Holiday! This has been such a looong winter and we still have a dirty gray blanket of snow. We plan a casual ham luncheon with a few new homemade recipes to share.
Citrus Glazed Ham
Laura’s Loaded Potato Salad
Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad
2 cans drained & rinsed garbanzo beans
1/4 c tahini
4 cloves of garlic
3/4 c olive oil
juice of one lemon
4 fillets anchovies
cup of fresh spinach
1/4 c fresh parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Green Goddess Dip
Spring Green Crudités
We had our fill, we had our fun. We celebrated Eli’s 1st B’day. It was LOUD, hectic, crazy and perfect. We can’t wait until the next Holiday or a chance get together again. Most importantly – we were all (mostly) together.
Sincerely Sara & Honestly Amy
