It’s a thing where they give you a card, you go to the surrounding shops and they stamp your card for stopping in.
When the card is full you can turn it in for dinner.
Fun for the kids, free and I don’t have to cook. Yes please!

I’m talkin’ this guy would have liked it.
This is one of my hubs favorite shows. I can barely understand the words coming out of their mouths but never the less a cute show.
Back to the boil;
They gave me the recipe they used (it ain’t a secret). The quantaties would depend of course on how many are coming over. They anticipated serving about 300.
- Old Bay Seasoning
- Red potatoes, cut in quarters
- Vidalia onions, cut in wedges
- Smoked sausage, cut in 2 inch lengths
- Jumbo shrimp, peeled
- Corn on the cob, cut into 2″ chunks
They also served chicken legs and thighs that had been covered in montreal steak seasoning and slow roasted. They call em cajun chicken drumsticks.
To me the best part of this dish is the warm, spicy broth. I contemplated taking a travel coffee mug and asking them to fill it up. I didn’t, but I thought about it.
We had such a great time. I got to shared Saeed’s story. Each business agreed to hang up posters for the upcoming 5k here in Fort Dodge on the 19th of October.
