It was so warm, bright and sunny yesterday. We decided to barbeque hamburgers on the grill and have smores afterwards.

Probably one of the last great days of this Indian Summer.

The burgers were delish.

1lb ground pork

1lb ground chuck 85/15

4 good shakes of worcestershire sauce ( could drink the stuff)

1 tsp crushed red pepper

1 tsp onion powder

1 large egg

salt and pepper

and a couple of dashes of tabasco

Mix it all together. Made 8 – 1/4 pounders. Grilled em over white-hot coals, 5 mins each side (no pink meat here).

I went in the house to get the smore stuff.

All I had were the marshmallows – Great!

IMG_8384We decided to just roast them.

Did I mention that we didn’t have chocolate either?

I dislike it when I promise something and can’t make it happen. The girls dislike it even more, go figure.

Then I remembered that Jim had bought a package of diet sabotagers for Lily to take to school.

And then the Smookie (a smore made out of a cookie) was born.

It was a big hit. They said it was better than plain ole smores.

They also said I was the best mom ever…

Honestly, Amy
